Our Guide to Creating a Santa Crawl
Follow these simple steps to organise a successful Santa Crawl:
- Nominate 7 or 8 santa-friendly pubs that are also welcoming of the odd naughty elf.
- Designate one of those as the initial meeting point - the local Friday night watering hole is an obvious choice if suitable
- Plan your Santa Stops with an arrival and departure time at each pub (usually allow 40 mins at each pub so Santas can get to the bar)
- Phone the pubs involved to advise them of scheduled arrival time (you don't want to get to one of the Stops and find that the Santa community has been denied access as has happened in previous instances)
- Once pub circuit is agreed and finalised, circulate an e-mail to all interested party-goers within your company, asking them to extend the invite to friends, partners, and basically anyone who is up for a fun night out.
- Ensure that it is made clear that ALL willing particpants MUST come in Santa attire from the first pub - NO EXCUSES...!! If you can't be bothered dressing up, find somewhere else to be a wet blanket.!
On a Final Note, let's all keep in mind that the aim of the game is to HAVE SOME FRIENDLY FUN. If your Santa friend is not permitted into a pub along the way due to their less than impressive efforts to keep up with the real drinkers, please do not try to smuggle them in though pub windows - the second aim of the game is to be allowed back to revisit the scene the following year. Ho, ho, ho... : )
